Question : I am 74 years old and very active with a good appetite. In the past year I have lost 30 pounds without trying to lose weight. My only noticeable changes are that my bowel movements have become gooey or explosive loose. I feel fine and am still energetic.
Height is 5" 8", weight has changed from 190 to 160.

Colonoscopy should be done to rule out colon carcinoma.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,
Thanks choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concerns.
History of altered bowel habits with sudden weight lose can be a red flag sign for carcinoma.Have you ever had a colonoscopy done? After the age of 50, it is recommended that all people should have a colonoscopy every 5-10 years. Even if you have had this test in the last 5 years it might be recommended to repeat it as you are having symptoms from a long time.
I would suggest you to go for a colonoscopy.
Thanks!
