Question : I am having a lot of bruising when I bump something and I bleed even if it is a small scratch myself. I had a nose bleed today. Very uncommon problems for me. Only 50 years, not on any medication.

Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to fragile skin.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query. I think that the problem is due to your structural tissues like collagen that form our skin and soft tissue structures. These seem fragile. Such a thing could occur due to advancement in age which causes the skin to automatically become thin and feeble. A deficiency of Vitamin C could be involved and therefore I would insist you to take either Vitamin C supplements of citrus fruits.

Unless the onset of these problems have been long back in your younger days I do not think that we need to worry about clotting problems as possible cause.

About your nose bleed, it would be worthwhile to visit an ENT doctor to get yourself examined and to rule out causes like nasal polyps. An overall general health check up would also be nice.

Feel free to write back.
