What Causes Unusual Burning Sensation In Groin Area?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Nov 2015
Question: I have a burning sensation on my left side in the groin area. Just started yesterday and it happens randomly for no reason and really hurts. There is no redness or swelling, just pain. It reminds me of the pain if you put on tiger balm in a sensitive area. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Strongly suspect a nerve abnormality in the region

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. There are numerous causes for such a presentation, and as I do not know your history and what all events have taken place prior to the presentation described by you I shall just go ahead and list out as many causes as I can remember and think of; they are:

+Peripheral neuropathy
+Peripheral artery disease
+Diabetes
+Heat burn
+Chemical burn
+Genital infectons
+Other infections (including sexually transmitted infections that can affect the nerves)
+Temperature (cold or hot)
+Different other neuropathies
and various other causes

The burning indicates an abnormality with the nerves, as there are no superficial symptoms seen. I would recommend a visit to your doctor for further evaluation and confirmation of the diagnosis, which in my opinion shouldn't be too difficult once a few investigations and tests are conducted.

Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
