What Causes Unusual Light Pink Spotting?

default
Posted on Wed, 9 Sep 2015
Question: Hi, I am a bit concerned because I have been having light pink spotting for the last 3 - 4 days and do not expect my period for another day or so. Today I just passed a fair amount of thick pink tissue but my cervix seems to be high and closed. I had a missed miscarriage / D&C in February of this year. My periods finally seemed to be getting back to normal as of last month.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Mild hormonal alterations in the body can cause such preperiod spotting. I have seen the image. It is picture of blood mixed with cervical secretions. Don't get worried about it. It is nothing abnormal. If your normal period does not start in a day or two get the pregnancy test done to exclude Implantation bleeding of pregnancy.

I hope this helps.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
