What Causes Unusual Yellowish Bruising On Abdomen?
Question: Hi, I have unexplained bruising on my stomach. I noticed two finger-tip sized bruises, yellowish, at the beginning of the week. Now I can see more at other quadrants on my belly. I do like a drink, I must admit, but have also been taking omega-3 supplements, and have been using a 'sausage cushion' at night, tied around my waist, as I have been having back problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and thanks for your query. I have seen the photos.
Emergency help is needed for acute pancreatitis but it has other symptoms like stomach pain that radiates to the back, symptoms of ill-health like nausea, vomiting, fever, increased heart rate, etc.
You only have unexplained bruises and not the other symptoms.
Firstly you will need to discontinue omega 3,6,9 since these are known to cause bleeding tendencies.
Taking sausage cushion is ok unless it is interfering with some blood supply which is unlikely.
Of course do not drink.
Now coming to the unexplained bruising, you will need further tests like liver function tests, complete blood count, serum amylase levels, and the clotting screen.
Thus you do need to see a doctor. Yes if you want the test results right away then you can go to the emergency services.
