What Causes Upper Nausea, Dizziness, Stomach Pain And Vomiting?

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Feb 2015
Question: This is the four time in a month I have had upper stomach pains that last two to three days. I generally start with severe diarrea and then the stomach pains. I started this bout on Sunday but with vommitting I have absolute no appetite, severe headache, dizziness. I am trying to decide if this is just a continue flu bug or is some food triggering these attacks. The common food that I ate before each bout was bread. Am I looking at gluten intolerance? I continue to be nausy and dizzy.

Brief Answer:
Does not sound like flu.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic.com .

I have gone through your question carefully and I do not think it is due to flu.

From your description, it sounds more like gastritis/GERD or gluten intolerance.

Since you have noted a particular association with eating bread before the pain starts, it does strongly suggest gluten intolerance, however it is quite likely that the problem is not just gluten intolerance, gastritis might as well be contributing to the pain.

You should stop consuming bread/wheat products.

Take Omeprazole 20 mg twice a day for five days.

You could also try an antacid+anesthetic combination (Check with your local pharmacist for the brand), these are available as OTC.

And do consult your Internist or surgeon to confirm the diagnosis.

I hope this answers your query, please do feel free to write back if you need further clarifications.

Wishing you speedy recovery and great health.

Best regards
