Brief Answer:
As explained.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Note that a male of 67 has a problem of pain in tight upper abdomen 3 inches above waist, has diarrhea and anal bleeding, taking anti-diarrheal

This history suggest that you have colitis and need proper investigations and treatment.

I would advise you to have the following way:
- Tests of stool, blood and urine.
- A course of an antibiotic and metronidazole (if there is mucus also in the stool), probiotics and antispasmodic for the pain and so on.
- See the results.
If everything normalizes, nothing more to be done.
But if there is no or less relief, to undergo colonoscopy and ultrasonography of the abdomen to start with and /or CT scan of the abdomen.
This will help to confirm or rule out the diagnosis.

Please let me know the following details:
- Since when have you got this problem?
- Is the stool mixed with blood or comes later after passing the stool?
- Any other symptoms or history you would like to share.

I hope this answers the query.
