Question : My husband had a surgery this morning for removal of gall badder around 11:30 am. The nurse gave him a catheter to empty his urine. But since we came home around 4pm and now its 11:30pm, he still unable to urinate even though he drank a 20 oz of Gatorade . I would like you to tell me what to do.

Wait till 6 am in morning. Anaesthetic some time have more effect on some people.
If urine does not pass till 6am go to the Emergency department Asap.
Ask him to drink more water atleast 2 glass every hour.
Wait till morning as the effect of anaesthesia may last for
about 24 hours.
