What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Taking Plan B?

default
Posted on Sat, 18 Feb 2017
Question: Me and my girlfriend had sex and after a while i saw some blood on the condom. We immediately stopped. Before that intercourse we had another one, where she was not really wet and she said it was somewhat painful. I also fingered her but instead of doing it with one finger as always, i used two and went somewhat harder. The next morning she was still bleeding. She took a plan b pill 4 days ago. She also had her period 11 days ago. Please help what could it be? I hope its whether a small wound i caused her or the hormones from the pill!

Brief Answer:
vaginal trauma or due to the pill

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Bleeding can either be due to slight vaginal trauma or due to the pill causing withdrawal bleeding.

However, if the pain was there, then the vaginal trauma is likely.
However, there is no need to worry if the bleeding is not very heavy and there is no excessive pain.

The vaginal abrasion will heal on its own.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Thank you very much! Is there any chance something like this can be caused because of pregnancy?

She kept having light bleeding for the rest of the day, but once it looked liked she had a blood clot. The blood was pretty thick and had a dark red color. Is that normal? Ever since bleeding was reduced. Also she has very light nose bleeding

Brief Answer:
Normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, this is normal to pass one or two clots.
Nose bleeding is unlikely due to pill, it can be due to dryness.
