What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy?

Question: my wife is been bleeding black blood whenever she wipes her self but we dont know where the blood is coming from. its old blood but where could it be from? she is 4 months pregnant. and she had a cyst on her ovary when she just got pregnant and she had a surgery to take the cyst away. could she be bleeding from tha surgery?

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Spotting or old blood discharge in pregnancy can be due to bleeding around the fetus (subchorionic hemorrhage) or due to abortion.
It is unlikely due to the cyst surgery in the past.
I will suggest you to get her ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis and get further management accordingly.
If the diagnosis is not made by ultrasound, then the local causes in cervix and vagina should be ruled out by a proper internal examination by an OBGYN specialist.
