Question : My Question Dr VPYK XXXXXXX only.

Madam I getting intense vaginal itching since 3 days.I recently had sex with my colleague without protection,but he does not have any STD's.I received TMP-SMZ tablets at XXXXXXX gen Hosp.But it did not improve.Can you please suggest me any treatment.

It seems fungal infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam.

I understand your query and concern.

You probably might have acquired vaginal fungal infection. Topical antifungal creams are available over the counter and can be applied.

This can be treated with antibiotics like Tab Fluconazole 150 mg PO now followed by another similar dose after 24 and 48 hrs.

This will clear all the infection and control the itching.

In case if you have sexual activity next time ,I advise you to use condoms.

Maintain Good genital hygiene.
