What Causes Vaginal Itching After Taking Folic Acid Tablets?
Question: My Wife is planning for pregnancy and it is her 1st time. We consulted with doctor and she did all the checkups and every thing is normal. Doctor recommended to have Folic Acid tablets. Whenever my wife take this tablet she will have some itching at his Vagina.

Folic acid tablets have no corelation with vaginal itching.
Folic acid tablets should be taken when conception is being planned.
There has to be some other reason for the vaginal itching - such as infection, reaction or allergy to soap, etc.
Please consult a gynecologist and have a per speculum and per vaginum exam plus a vaginal swab taken.
Also , avoid using medicated soaps or cleansers, gels, douches, toilet paper, tissue, towels etc.
Just clean private parts with lukewarm water and XXXXXXX dry with a gentle towel.

Thanks for quick answers. But she feel of itching after taking the folic acid medicine only. In addition to this I will make sure that she follow your recommedation.
Apart from this I would like to know the process to become a pregnent ?
As far as i know if her menses start at say 1st of the month then I have to contact (1+9) =10th day , 12th, 14, 16th Day. Is it correct ?
Please advise .

If you are finding that there is a relation with folic acid, then try switching the brand.
What brand are you using right now ?
I can suggest an alternative brand.
Also, for pregnancy, intercourse has to occur when she is ovulating.
If she has a normal 28 day cycle, she would ovulate around day 14.
To be on the safer side, you should stay sexually active every alternate day from day 10 to day 20 of her cycle, considering the first day of her period as day 1.
