Brief Answer:
Take antispasmodics and see

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Hemorrhagic cysts can occur in the process of normal menstrual cycle.
As it is smaller in size, that may not lead to major problems.
If it is simple cyst with only fluid content, no need to worry.
Emergency contraceptive pill can lead to withdrawal bleeding, that can be one reason for your spotting.
It may take one or two months for the regularization of your periods.
With your doctor's advice you can take antispasmodic drugs to control the pain.
If pain subsides no need to worry, wait for two more months and repeat ultrasound to observe the condition of the cyst.
If pain doesn't subside after taking antispasmodics, better to repeat ultrasound with doppler, then decide regarding laparatomy.
In the second part of the cycle, thickened endometrium can be seen.

Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer followup queries. If you are satisfied with the response, please give your review at the end of the discussion.
Take care.

The cyst has blood in it is what the doctor said. Do I need to get operated to remove the cyst or taking modus 10 mg tablet is enough. What are the side effects of this cyst? I was operared for a dermoid cyst 2 years back. So is this cyst dangerous as the dermoid to be operated? Will the spotting and abdominal pain stop with modus 10 mg tablet?

Brief Answer:
Followup needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If the cyst contains only blood stained fluid, that could be simple hemorrhagic cyst and possibly subsides by its own.
If it contains other material like endometrial tissue etc, the cyst can grow and can lead to problems.
Progesterone tablets can help in controlling the bleeding but using these tablets just for few days may not affect the status of the cyst.
Simple cyst can subside by its own or you may need to use hormonal pills for two to three months with your doctor's advice.
If the pain subsides you can wait and watch.
The cyst with present size may not cause problems but if it continues growing that can lead to complications like torsion, rupture etc.
So, discuss these things with your doctor and follow her advice.
Take care.
