Question : recently I have vaginal infection. I've consulted a gyne. She told me that it is vaginal vulvodynia, she gave me Candid CL suppositeries. and other three tablets. besides that I've some eruptions on the vulvo part of the Vagina. Doctor told me to go for a cervical PAP Smear test. I want to know is there any risk of cervical cancer there? I am 36 years old. my weight is 65Kgs. at this moment except this I do not have any other medical problems. I have gone through a c-section.

                                    Brief Answer:
chance is low
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Cervical cancer is relatively less common below 40 years of age. Your symptoms also look like an infection rather than cancer.
Pap smear is basically a screening test and not diagnostic test. That means if I suspect cervical cancer in a patient, I should do a biopsy from the suspected area, rather than PAP smear. Pap smear is to screen for precancerous changes in healthy women.
If your doc had real reason to suspect cancer, I think she would have ordered biopsy.
Hope this helps.
Regards
