Question : 3 mths ago , I had renal biopsy that confirmed vasculitis. high cholestrol, microscopic blood and protein in urine, no peripheral odema. Renal function 4 years ago had numbers in normal range, cholesterol good, bp 130/80, liver function good, no diabetes, not overweight, fitness is a bit low, although active. The reason I went to the GP was migraines which became more and more frequent [up to 4 a week, sometimes 2 in a day and only hours apart - with aura]. My question is- are migriaines and CKD related? The drs say no. I am on a statin and since starting absolutely no migraines for 7 weeks. Do high cholesterol and migraines go together? Magnesium levels are rising due to supplement also.[

Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that it is important to see the cause of vasculitis . You should get your immune workup done . Specially SLE and XXXXXXX positive vasculitis needs to be ruled out . Headache can be due to SLE which seems to be a possibilty considering your case scenario. You should get ANA , ENA and XXXXXXX levels done.
CKD and headaches are unrelated , your doctor has rightly guided this to you. Dyslipidemia is also not related to headaches .
Take care.
