Question : I have been experiencing vertigo for the past 4 days but have no other symptoms. Is this probably just a viral infection in my ear?
Brief Answer:
There can be many reasons for the vertigo
Detailed Answer:
Hello
There can be many reasons for the vertigo, the commonest being deranged blood sugars and abnormal blood pressure.
A viral infection will have fever or upper respiratory tract symptoms like a cold or cough. If these are absent then the vertigo is unlikely to be due to a viral infection.
Rarely low hemoglobin or abnormal heart rhythm may also cause dizziness.
The best thing would be to meet your ent doctor. He will do a thorough check up and guide you further
Take care
