Question : 74 year old male. He is seeing things that aren't there. No med changes. Blood pressure does go up sometime in each day. To about 120 over 180. The doctors haven't helped much. He does have prostate cancer which is being treated with some kind of female hormones. He is in his right mind and knows he is seeing these things when it happens.

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your 74 years old father who is known to have cancer of the prostate and being treated with hormonal therapy gets episodes of hypertension once in a while .

The varied symptoms and transient fluctuations in his blood pressure that he gets are mostly due to Anxiety Neurosis associated with cancer prostate and age related senile neurosis.

I would suggest to consult qualified Psychiatrist for counselling and treatment .
