Brief Answer:
consider hospitalization

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome
This is obviously infectious gastro-enterocolitis and in this age it may be serious if it leads to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. SO if there is no improvement in fluid intake or symptoms such as high fever, dizziness, sleepiness or low blood pressure occur, she should see doctor immediately.
Also, she must drink at least 3 liter of fluids per day, have easy diet that include probiotics, boiled potato, boiled vegetables, rice, toasted bread,, salty soups, chammomile tea. Also, beverages such as Prosure or Rehidromix should be taken.
If she is not able to drink and eat that amount, she should go to hospital and have intravenous infusions and her blood picture should be checked.
Wish you good health. Regards

Brief Answer:
Hi

Detailed Answer:
Yes, it is better for her to have iv fluids to prevent serious dehydration. when she comes home, the best way to guard against dehydration is to consume liquids that contain salt and sugar. popular is so called the BRAT diet: bananas, rice (white), applesauce and toast. but, also oatmeal, boiled or baked potatoes (peeled), or baked chicken can be taken.the best would be to drink still water, but she can take fruit beverages, carbonated mineral water, isotonic drinks. she should avoid coke, coffee, alcohol or too sweet drinks. I am sure that she will feel better soon. Wish you good health. Regards
