Question : I had my gal bladder removed almost 2 years ago and continue to have vomiting and extreme bloating from even a few bites of food. Is it possible that there is some duct blocked that was not recognized when the surgery was done?

Brief Answer:
Probable gastroparesis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

You are probably suffering from gastroparesis which is slowing down your stomach and causing abdominal bloating and vomiting.
A gastric emptying scan may be done to confirm it.
Take prokinetic medications like Reglan or Levosulpiride.

Check for Helicobacter pylori infection also.
If gastric emptying scan confirms gastroparesis check your blood glucose level.

I hope that answers your questions.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.

What is gastroparesis and why wouldn't my gastroenterologist have checked for this given the long period of time I have had these symptoms? Would that diagnosis be detected in all of the tests I have had?
I also was tested for H. Pylori and it was negative.

Brief Answer:
Gastroparesis needs a special test to be diagnosed

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
With the information you have given, I have mentioned the possibility of gastroparesis.
The tests done so far may not confirm gastroparesis.
As mentioned earlier, special test called the gastric emptying scan has to be done to confirm it.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
