Question : My husband has been sick lately. Throwing up, diarrhea, chills, sweats. This goes on for 2-3 days and then he has been fine for 2-5 days. This cycle has gone on 3-4 times. Our doctor had him do a stool sample and the test came back today online. It said there was something called rare charcot-leydon found in the stool sample. Is this something that is really serious. Do we need to contact an emergency person or can it wait until Monday to check back with the doctor. Is it something that I can get from him?

Brief Answer:
No need to contact emergency...

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

I have gone through the medical history of your husband and feel sorry for the situation he is in.

Can you please provide the stool test reports? I need to analyze them myself before running into final conclusions.

Charcot-Leydon crystals are deriving from breakdown of eosinophils in patients with parasitic disease. They are not serious, but indicative for parasitic disease. That's why I need to look at your lab reports myself to analyze them better.

You can wait until Monday to check with your doctor. If the symptoms will aggravate, should contact ER.

Looking forward to have the lab reports in if possible!
Thank you!
