Question : Last night my 77 year old husband vomited in the middle of the night, fell a d could not get up for 15 minutes. He sustained no injuries but then he wet the bed in his sleep. What could cause this?

Its not entirely clear what is going on here. It's possible he had a viral syndrome or possibly that he has a urinary tract infection or UTI. A UTI may cause trouble with bladder control.
It seems like these are acute symptoms which should be assessed. If he shows any signs that these symptoms are lingering then I think an evaluation by a local physician is necessary.
