Question : I have had shoulder issues recently and now a feeling of warmth or a hot neck. It's like a dull ache and warm.

I read your question and i understand your concern. These warm and hot sensation around the neck and shoulder may be attributed to the recent overwork you have done. So i would suggest some ibuprofen, some skelaxin and some rest. Exercises and applying heat or ice to the area may bring some relief. Give it a try. Wait for it and if the symptoms persist despite resting and conservative options, get assessed by an internist. They will have some shoulders and cervical spine radiographs and we will have our answer.
