Posted on Thu, 6 Nov 2014
Question: I have warts developing on face. Mostly near the corners of eye. I know it's hereditary and my dad has it. When I contacted skin specialist they told it can be removed. But my concern is if I get it removed will it not grow back again or worst spread faster than present or grow multiple where in earlier only 1 was there...

Brief Answer:
skin tags,will not recurr.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.I can understand your concern.

The skin growths which you are having are probably skin tags and not warts.

Warts are viral infections and they are never hereditary, while Skin tags are extra growth of skins. As such there is no specific reasons for developing skin tags and can be inherited from parents.

Best treatment for skin tags is removal either by laser or cautery. It is a quick and safe procedure.Once removed they never grow back on the same site. There is no evidence that removal of skin tags can cause fast growth.I will advise you to go for this procedure without any hesitation.

I hope this will help you.In case if you are having any concern I will be happy to help you.Take care.
