What Causes Watery Stools In Infants?

Question: Hi, Baby is 7 month old. She has started passing watery stools from two weeks. The frequency is 6-7 times, We are giving oral re hydration liquid and feeding with Nestum rice, also having mother breast feed...
So any antibiotics are required kindly suggest.

I would need to ask if apart from Nestum rice whether the child is receiving breast milk or external milk. You have been doing the right thing by giving oral rehydration and a rice based formula. Antibiotics are not required as most often diarrhea in children is due to viral cause where antibiotics are ineffective. But I would suggest for zinc supplementation. Be patient as irrespective of treatment the loose stools may take 3-7 days to resolve. If adequate rehydration is done you need not worry.
