Question : Hello Dr., my mother was going through an angioplasty last week. she had two blockages of 99% in one artery. After angioplasty she can't eat properly. suffering from loose motion, vomiting and fever frequently. her age is 58 years and weight approx 48-49 kg. She is non vegetarian. please suggest proper diet for her. According to me after angioplasty her immune system become weak. Need your good suggestion.

Brief answer...it seems to be a viral diarrhoea and there is nothing to worry as it shall settle soon.

Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern however I would like to mention that there is nothing to worry and there is no loss of immunity after the angioplasty.
As far as treatment is concerned,you may give her PANTOPROZOLE 40 mg once a day on empty stomach in morning for 7-10 days.It would regulate her vomiting and acidity.
As far as loose motions are concerned,no antibiotic is required as these loose motions shall gradually become normal in next 2-3 days.
Give her some pro biotic like VIZYLAC twice a day for 2 weeks.
At the moment she requires plenty of oral fluids like ORS,lemon water,coconut water etc.
As far as food is concerned,she can have cheese or bitter or salad sandwiches,rice and dal,khichri for best couple of days.You can give her chapatti and dal also.
Once she becomes all right in next few days,her normal food may be restarted.
