Respected Sir
Most important factor in such cases is determining the rhythm. If it is really fibrillating or not. If it is fibrillating the treatment is entirely different. For a fibrillating heart we have to give blood thinners and control the rate or rhythm. The rate controlling medicines include beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers. Rhythm control requires shock / ablation or anti-arrhythmic medicines.
A simple high heart rate which is in rhythm is not a primary problem in most of the cases. We have to look for the secondary causes of high heart. This can be simply low hemoglobin, medicines like anti-asthma drugs, a weak heart , thyroid disorder, excessive coffee or tea, fever, anxiety, stress etc. In most such situations control of precipitating factor will address the problem. At the most you may need beta-blocking agents for some time.
some patients do get this feeling of extreme weakness with both these agents; amlodipine as well as bisoprolol. You must get in touch with your physician to sort this out. Especially significant fall in blood pressure on standing should be ruled out.
Hope this provides some insight. Feel free to discuss further.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder

Thank you, my heart is in rhythm, I needed to understand why the weakness. We cut out amlodipine yesterday and today my strength is greatly improving. Only using bisoprolol my blood pressure 117/95, heart rate back to 67. the cause was anxiety and alcohol abuse and would appreciate your thoughts how soon I can expect to be back to normal. My mind is very clear but do suffer from depression and anxiety especially in the mornings.

This chat is more therapeutic than technical as the soul seems to need care now.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir
The effect of amlodipine is likely to wane off in about 150 to 180 hours. It is an estimate based upon 4-5 half lives of drug. However it may vary in a given individual.
The effects of alcohol abuse and anxiety will follow their own course and can be best predicted by psychology specialist. It will also depend upon your Willings to fight out.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
