What Causes Weakness In Right Hand?
Need to evaluate cervical spondylosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. If you are having any pain in the neck or shoulder region, specifically a radiating pain from neck to arm/ forearm, possibility of cervical spondylosis needs to be thought of.
2. However, in early stages of cervical spondylosis (cervical vertebral interspace is reduced and starts compressing the nerve), tingling and numbness may be the initial presentation. If lifting weights or stuff increases the symptoms, it is more possibly cervical spondylosis. It is a degenerative condition. For confirmation, X-ray or MRI will be necessary.
3. As you are using aspercreme, i am thinking, there might be a pain, which could be due to cervical spondylosis.
4. If there are no symptoms as (2) - need to think of peripheral neuropathy. It is usually due to nutritional deficiency. Nutritional supplements containing Vit B12, folic acid and alpha lipoic acid will be helpful.
Cervical spondylosis is progressive, if not managed at an early stage. If not sure, get an X-ray/MRI. Meet your doctor for tests.
Hope it helps.
