Question: i have weight gain in the abdomen after umbilical hernia surgery, is this normal and will it decrease on its own?

Hi,

Weight gain after umbilical hernia repair is not normal. If this has been a rapid increase in your weight, then we would have to look at the possible causes. The possible causes may not be related to surgery as this is a very minor procedure with minimal risk of damage to internal organs.

For now, I will like to know how much weight you have put on and over what time period. If there are any other concerns, mention them to me. I will use all of these before concluding on possible treatment options.
