Question : My husband today has drank 3 quarts of Kool aid and 9 Mt Dews and he has a fever. He has slept most of today. He takes naps daily. He sleeps until 3:00 am then wakes until 5:00. Also he has been losing weight steadily for three years. He's 6'3" and weighs 165 at his lowest today, from 300 3 years ago. Today he said he's drinking the Kool aid and sodas to gain weight. He eats little amounts but does eat fruit daily. He has a very long ( time wise) urine stream so he pees out his fluids. He doesn't do drugs, but drinks alcohol daily, 4-6 drinks. He works, but will work a full day then an hour or two the next and keeps the cycle going. What is wrong? Diabetes? Just getting older and tired?

                                    Brief answer....given below
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understood your concern.
History of constantly loosing weight for past 3 years with consumption of lots of soda drinks ( they contain very high amount of sugar ) and regular intake of 4-6 drinks of alcohol every day clearly gives a suspicion of diabetes.
He must be immediately investigated thoroughly.
Consult your doctor and get the investigations done.
I hope it helps however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
