Question : My urine has the smell of burnt rubber especially in the morning. I've had a UTI before and this smell was a symptom of it. However, I have take 2 UTI tests over the last couple of days and they were negative.

Brief Answer:
Prophylatic antibiotics and watchful waiting are the best options.

Detailed Answer:
Hi!

I agree that the UTI tests might have been negative, however a dose of antibiotics will not hurt if taken prophylactically. They will clear other infections of the region, that may be causing the issue. There is a chance that the infection, if exists could be located in a different area, other than the urinary tract. If this is the case, antibiotics will help. The best strategy is to wait and watch.

Thanks,
