What Causes Wetness Around Anal Area Prior To Defecation?

default
Posted on Fri, 3 Jun 2016
Question: Recently I've noticed that my anus feels wet just before going to the bathroom for a poop. It also happens when I try to retain urine for a longer period of time even when I need to urinate urgently. It just gets wet and doesn't have any odour. When touched it feels watery like sweat. Is it related to my slightly enlarged prostate? Or is it related to my over indulgence in drinking recently? I have to empty my bowel twice or thrice daily? Is it normal or do I have some underlying issue? Please advise. Thanking you.

Brief Answer:
? Fistula

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.

This could be probably be due to fistula in ano which can be confirmed only with a clinical examination.

A digital rectal examination, examination of the area around the anal opening and a proctosigmoidoscopy may have to be done.

Discuss with your doctor about these tests.

Regards,
Dr.R.K.
