Question: I am appearing in XXXXXX in The XXXXXXX XXXXXXX. I have a horrendous cough which is getting to the point where I cannot talk without coughing and wheeze at night which is keeping me awake. Would a local doctor see me and prescribe amoxicillin as two years ago I had the same thing and this cleared it up.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Welcome to Health Care Magic.
My name is Dr Muhammad Ahmad & I will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way.

I understand your concern, if along with cough you could hear you respiratory tract whistling it means that you have respiratory tract irritation and allergy too.
In my opinion more than antibiotic you need drugs that can relive your cough and reduce irritation to your respiratory tract.

SUGGESTIONS:

1- Visit a doctor if you can, more preferably an ENT or chest specialist.
2- You can get OTC cough syrup.
3- Steam inhalation works wonders.
4- I would suggest similar patients an anti histamine as well I reduce irritation.
5- Bronchodilator tablets or inhaler also works wonder.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
