Question : I have chalky white stools. What is wrong?
Brief Answer:
Biliary obstruction
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Chalky white stools indicate that there is lack of bile products in it. This occurs when there is obstruction of bile flow from the liver to intestine.
Obstruction can occur in the bile duct or by the head of pancreas.
An ultrasound scan and a liver function test may be done to look for the biliary obstruction.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
