I have some of the same to my other arm area which began recently. Tonight when rushing around at work I noticed the areas were purpleish in color. What can this be?

Brief Answer:
Looks like pityriasis versicolor, terbinafine cream twice daily
Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photographs and it is looking like pityriasis versicolor.
It is a superficial fungal infection of the skin.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical antifungal like terbinafine cream on the affected areas twice daily for 3-4 weeks.
