Question : I have had 3 swabs and 3 urine samples done but no sti has been found also i have had a pin prick hiv test done and it was negative 60 days after exposure. I have been diagnosed with epidydmitiis and given ofloxacin. I had a discharge white in colour no pain urinating. But the discharge has come back. I am very worried.

This is a good news for you that all the three swabs and 3 urine samples are normal , there is no STI, no HIV.

You have been diagnosed as a case of Epididymitis and already under a correct line of treatment.

Epididymis is a part of the Genito-urinary system, meaning the infection spreads from one organ to another. So the infection spreads from epididymis to the prostate.

You present problem of white discharge looks to be coming from the prostate. This may be infected or not can be decided by a digital ( finger palpation) of the prostate, Prostatic massage to get a sample of this fluid from the prostate for analysis, gram staining, culture and sensitivity. The reports will help for a further management.

Do not be worried. Take a proper diagnostic tests, ultrasonography with color doppler mode of the abdomen and scrotum as a follow-up, get the proper antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines as per the lab reports and wisdom of your treating Urologist.

-Drink plenty of water an oral fluids to flush the urinary system.
-Scrotal support.
-Reduce the anxiety status - it helps in early recovery.
