Question : I have a white spot inside my lower left eyelid. My eye was sore for a couple of days, and I thought I was getting a stye. It looks somewhat lumpy or swollen around the spot. My eye has some itching, redness and swelling. I have started applying Stye eye ointment which relieves some of the pain. What else should I do?

Hello.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and I can understand your concern.

Considering your description you have a stye ,which is an inflammation of the eyelid glands. When this happens inside the eyelid ,it is called hordeolum internum.
It is a self-limited condition and usually it goes on it's own in 1 week.

Apply warm compresses on the affected eyelid and massage it gently. This can help to drain the pus.Do it 3 times a day for 10 min until the pus (white spot) is out.A topical antibiotic ointment would help with the infection. You can use Bacitracin ophthalmic ointment twice a day.

If the warm compresses don't seem to help or the inflammation get worse ,you may need to see a physician because it may need oral antibiotics or drainage.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any question.I would be happy to help.

Kind regards,
