Question : Upon standing (up from desk, out of the car,) feeling of constricted blood flow to the brain, a throbbing/whooshing in my ears, feeling of slight choking. Not your ordinary orthostatic hypotension. Happens throughout the day.
It resolves in minutes as I adjust to standing, but very worrisome. Saw my PCP last evening. Scheduled me for carotid doppler, and a neck xray to rule our cervical spinal compression.
Could this just be low blood sugar???

Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
Your symptoms may be related in a few cases with low blood sugar levels, but it may also may be related to carotid arteries stenosis (blockage) or cervical spine compression (spondilo arthrosis).
This is why it's important to do the tests recommended by your doctor.
Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
