Question: Me and my girlfriend had unprotected sex on 5th march to which she took an ipill the same day. Further we had unprotected sex on 11th march to which she didn't take the ipill. On 14th march she got her periods, usually her periods cycle starts on 26th. Does this mean she is not pregnant??

Brief Answer:
It is withdrawal bleeding. Wait for next coming period.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

1) You did FIRST sexual intercourse in SAFE period on 5th March and she took I-PILL within first 24 hrs, which gives more than 95% extra protection against unwanted pregnancy.

2) Second time intercourse (On 11th March) was very close to her fertile period or ovulation day. However, she DIDN'T take any emergency pill.

She got her period on 14th March due to withdrawal effect of previous pill. It is quite common phenomena.

Suggestion: I suggest to await for next coming period. If it is delayed more than 1 week, she must undergo one home pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and practice safe sex in future.

So does the withdrawal effect of the previous pill work for the scenario where she didn't use the pill??

Brief Answer:
No protection for last sex from previous pill. Wait for next period.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for follow up query.

NO, withdrawal effect of previous pill DOESN'T protect last sexual intercourse on 11th March.

She should wait for next coming period and undergo home pregnancy test if it delays more than 1 week (NOT before that).

Hope, I have answered your query. Kindly, close the discussion.

All the best and good luck.
