I think has gotten worse olease help
Brief Answer:
diflucan is an appropriate choice
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
you haven't mentioned which part of your body got infected. I suppose it's your mouth or your vagina. If you haven't had a lot of vaginal infections then diflucan would probably be effective. Regarding mouth infections, though sometimes recurrences may occur and eradication can be more difficult particularly if the infection spreads to the esophagus.
Please inform me about the site of infection and your symptoms, if you'd like to further discuss this issue.
Kind Regards!

My vagina is the infected area. It is a little swollen around the opening and is red but the discharge is white so it may be a really bad yeast infection I recently had a pap smear and everything was negative. But i was on 500mg of amoxcillen 2 times a day ..
Brief Answer:
diflucan is good choice
Detailed Answer:
Vaginitis after antibiotic treatment is a fairly common complication for women. Diflucan is considered to be appropriate treatment. If it won't improve after a few days' treatment then alternative antifungals can be considered. A gynecologic examination and culture may help to correctly identify the pathogen and receive the best treatment.

I recently had a culture exam and all of the results came back negative . There is no abnormal discharge but its a little white . My viginal opening is a little swollen . And is tender to the touch .i havent had any intercourse .
Brief Answer:
could be candida
Detailed Answer:
Candida is the most common pathogen in vaginal yeast infections and gives the appearance of spilled milk (white patches scattered around). Redness, itching, burning, discharge are all common. If you did the culture when you were under treatment, it is possible that treatment affected the results (and you got a negative report). What did the gynecologist think that you have?
Was the gynecologist certain about the yeast infection? How many days are you taking diflucan (please also mention the dosage).

No i was not on anything when i received my culture. But when i went for my follow up she had perscribed me so amoxicellin for a sinus infection which was 500mg three times a day . And she perscribed me the diflucan for after i was finished the antibioticts she only gave me 1 difulcan to take and it was a low dosage it also was a genric brand. Which i took and it didnt really lower the symptoms .
Brief Answer:
the normal dose is 150mg once
Detailed Answer:
The recommended dose for vaginitis is 150mg only once. This dose is usually effective. Alternative regimens include itraconazole by mouth and nystatin locally. Nystatin is less effective and has to be administered for a couple of weeks. In cases of treatment failure the gynecologist might have to consider other potential causes too or resistant strains.

Ok, well is it something that i could get now to eas the swelling and itching ? e
Brief Answer:
there are some creams for that
Detailed Answer:
There are some creams with combinations of antifungals and corticosteroids. Although the corticosteroids promote yeast infections, the combination with an antifungal can be used to treat yeast infections with excessive inflammation (which presents as swelling and itchiness on the skin). Ask your pharmacist for available formulations in your country. Any combination will do. Use it externally only. When the external inflammation is contained (in the next 24 hours usually) the corticosteroid will have to be withdrawn. Treatment with an antifungal should be continued.

Great, i have the creams should i apply them both at the same time ? Or different times ?
Brief Answer:
different times would be better
Detailed Answer:
It would be better if you applied them at different times but I got a little confused now. We're you taking creams only? I thought you took diflucan tablet 150mg first.
