Question : Do the attched photos look like skin cancer? The first photo was taken before putting peroxide on it, the second photo was taken right after and the third was 2 days later. The spot is located in the drum of the left ear and started the size of a freckle about 1mm and grew to 1.5cm in 5 days. Any advice would be appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Please, provide better images!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed the information provided and the images. Unfortunately, the images are not clear and have not been very helpful.

Basing my reasoning and arguments on your clinical picture, this is most likely not cancer. No cancer would grow that rapidly and the ear is not a common site for skin cancer. Also, you are young and cancer of the skin is common in elderly.

For now, I will appreciate if you could provide better images. There is no point in freaking out about this now. This would most likely represent an infection and proper wound care would resolve the issue.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Brief Answer:
For now, it is not cancer!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have seen the pictures and they are more informative. For now, I will treat this as a wound. Unless it fails to respond to treatment, I will not even think of cancer. I will suggest that he seeks adequate wound care and maybe antibiotics to help control the infection for now.

I wish him well. Feel free to request for more information if need be.
