What Causes Yellowing Of The White Part Of Eye?

Question: Hello, Last March I came down with what seemed like a flu. At that time, I did notice some slight yellow(ish) colour to my eye whites so I went in for some blood work.
I had billirubin slightly high out of range as well as a slightly high ferratin. The last blood work I had was 6 months ago in which billirubin was still slightly high but ferratin and ALL other liver enzymes were in good range. Just yesterday, I went in to follow up and see if my billirubin was perhaps back to normal and saw that my ALT was just a bit high. All previous blood work ALT was around 18 U/L. Yesterday it was 65 U/L. My upper abdominal ultrasound was deemed normal in March as well. I will include one old blood work paper and yesterdays to this question. I do sometimes feel a dull ache or pinch in the upper right area but sometimes wonder if its just related to bowel movement or gas. I dont know if its my liver. I hope to stop worrying and think positive. Im not a heavy drinker, I eat a low fat balanced diet and get exercise. Thank-You.

Brief Answer:
Normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Increased iron stores (ferritin) leading to increased hemoglobin resulting in slightly increased breakdown of hemoglobin into Bilirubin rising its level.
Need not worry, this is absolutely not serious and not related to any pathology. These values get corrected on their own without any intervention.
I even don't think it to be due to alcohol as GGT enzyme is within range.
Continue low fat diet, get the Liver function test repeated after 3 months from now just to check the values. There is no need for any other interventions.
Since Ultrasound scan is normal, I believe the dull ache pain could be due to gas.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Normal
