Question: My daughter called about my 7 th month old healhty granddaughter. She has a vaginal discharge which is yellowish / green. No fever has pooped a lot in the last few days. My daughter is concerned if its a UTI or another type of infection. Everything is normal, eating, sleeping, playing. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
This is unusual in this age - please consult pediatrician

Detailed Answer:
Hi.... yellowish green vaginal discharge is very unusual in this age group. I suggest you get your grandchild examined by a pediatrician tomorrow, even though there are no other systemic signs and symptoms.

Probably a swab of the region with Grams stain and culture would be a logical choice.

But I can assure you one thing, it is not something very dangerous as the kid is active and playful otherwise.
