Question : Greeting,

One of marriage prospect who is 27 year old had hole in her heart since birth, year ago she underwent surgery for the same.Considering the above medical history, what are future complication,Limitation which possibly her future life partner should be made aware of ?

hi thanks for query. I need some more information before giving a really useful info. I need to know which hole was there, what was heart function like and was there anything called pulmonary hypertension and what is present status. Though it is very difficult to precisely say the prognosis by and large any hole that remains suitable for closure at 27year generally have good prognosis.

I strongly suggest to take more details and if possible the discharge summary of the surgery performed. Please get back to me with details for a better opinion.

I have few more information to share,

The hole in heart was since at the time of birth, however it kept on growing as the age grew. This was first noticed at the age when she was 7 year old and only got it treated when the hole went on to increase upto 2cm at the age of 25 years.

A year back she had successfully undergone open heart surgery and continue to lead normal life according to her.

Currently i do not have access to her medical report except for the above information,

Kindly let me know, what are future complication,Limitation which her future life partner should be made aware of ?

To know the prognosis, we need to know if it's VSD or ASD. Looking at overall description, it looks like ASD which has good out come.
