Question : I have been having digestive issues since mid december and had Norovirus the first of January. Ever since, my digestive issues have seemed worse. I have severe nausea several times a week and I'm not able to eat much as my stomach just doesn't want food. I'm not sexually active and I'm on 90 day birth control. I also have had trouble with bowel movements. What could be causing these things?
Brief Answer:
Lab tests.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Please note that any viral infection may disturb gut for a few weeks and it may precipitate temporary lactose intolerance.
As you are dairy products free and taking probiotics, I will suggest continuing probiotics and lab tests.
Please get lab tests as SERUM BILIRUBIN, SGOT, SGPT, SERUM ALK PHOSHATASE, SUGAR LEVEL, URINE COMPLETE...
Also advised is an ultrasound abdomen to detect any liver or gall bladder or CBD issue.
Before going gluten free please get tested for gluten sensitivity. A good lab test is available for this.
Also, get BP checked.
Hope I have answered your query.
