Question : hi, my fiances stomache is very protruding. A little alarming. What could be causing this?

Possible diastasis recti

Hi and welcome.

This may indicate a ventral hernia, diastasis recti or a hiatal hernia. These are all benign conditions but if severe it may require surgical treatment.

It would be good for her to do gastroscopy and abdominal wall ultrasound to check these diagnoses that I have mentioned. Till then, she should regulate body mass, and avoid intensive physical activity such as weightlifting.
