What Could Be Reason My Brother Lack Of Sleeping And Continuous Irritation With Lack Of Social Interactions?
I need your advice on medications for my brother. He was facing issues related to lack of sleeping and continuous irritation with lack of social interactions.
He visited a doctor in XXXXXXX 2021 and the following medications were advised (in higher number and dosage initially). Please note that the medications provided below was after around 3 months in March 2021:
1. DICORATE ER 500 mg - 1 tablet in night
2. OLEANZ 5 mg - 1 tablet in morning and 1 tablet in night
3. RISDONE Plus - 1 tablet in night
4. VALIUM 5mg - 1 tablet in night
Presently, he refrains from taking the medication due to its high dizziness affect. He is looking for any medication support which will help him sleep well and be more functional during the day with lesser dizzy effect if possible.
The frequency of taking the above medications by him at present is around 10-15 days. The other symptoms include body ache and minimum direct social interactions.
Please suggest.
Kindly let me know if you need any further information for better assistance.
Best regards
There is need for in-person/online consultation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your query and understand your concerns.
First of all I like to inform you that in the given scenario/problems faced by patient it is very essential to have continuous treatment. The presentations and available prescription of patient indicates that your brother is suffering with psychosis (most likely schizophrenia).
I also feel that there is need for rationalisation of treatment as the prescription is very old and may not be relevant for the current date.
You are requested to get an in person consultation with local psychiatrist available in your city. In case that is not available or the patient is not willing to visit the psychiatrist you can ask for online consultation.
In my opinion without one to one consultation it is not possible to change the medication of patient at any cost.
I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
