Question : Hi, I have developed hemorrhoids (piles) after the birth of my daughter in 2011. It's been there all these years and I was taking some homeopathic medicine my father had given me to keep it under control. Unfortunately, he passed away last year and I am not doing anything for it. For the last few days, it has been troubling me a lot, It's getting painful with itching, burning etc. I wanted to ask if there is over the counter medicine I can get in the US (preferably online0 so that I can get relief? Also, what is the long term treatment for the problem ? i am unable to attach a picture at the moment but would want to send one for better diagnosis.
Brief Answer:
Hemorrhoids management
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting us with your health question
You can try over the counter Preparation H hemorrhoid cream available over the counter in USA. It helps reduce inflammation, size, and pain associated with Hemorrhoid.
However, if the issue is severe, this can give only temporary relief. And in the long run, you might have to make an appointment with a surgeon/primary provider for evaluation and management of hemorrhoids.
Also, drink plenty of water and follow a high fiber diet to avoid constipation, as constipation can worsen hemorrhoids.
