What Could Be The Reason I Have Ulcer Like Lesions In My Vaginal Area?

Question : I have ulcer like lesions in my vaginal area.. I have lower abdo pain like a uti. It does not burn when I urinate. its constant uncomfortable pain on the lesions. It cannot be STI related as I’ve had the same partner for 6 years unless this is something I’ve had the whole time? Although have never had these ulcers before.. it’s been about a week and I feel like it’s at its worst now. There is no discharge from the lesions. They are just painful. Even when just laying in bed but especially when sitting or walking etc.

The ulcer like lesions that are painful can be due to a Herpes infection. It can be related to a superficial skin infection also. Herpes can be diagnosed by viral culture obtained from the fluid from lesion. There are also blood tests that can detect antibodies to the herpes viruses. Your dermatologist will guide you for the investigations. 
I really encourage you to visit with your primary care physician for an true and thorough examination. There is no substitute for an examination to really find out what is going on.

How do you get herpes though? My partner does not have any symptoms at all. It’s just me. A few months ago I had severe ulcers in my mouth. Is this related?

The lesions that you had earlier could be due to oral herpes. It can remain dormant or symptom free for years. Only an examination and test can help in proper diagnosis.
