Question : My son is 21 and has been ill for 2 months. His lung xrays, blood work, oxygen level and everything comes back fine. He has headaches, completely exhausted and when he breathes in he immediately starts coughing. He has tested negative for COVID19. He has seen doctors and they say there is nothing to treat. We have nowhere else to go, but he isn’t getting any better.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of bronchitis is more likely.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Thanks for your question on 'Ask A Doctor' forum. I can understand your concern.

By your history and description, the possibility of bronchitis is more likely. It is better to get PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) done. If PFT is showing obstructive defect then he will need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.

Regards
