Question : On 2/1/2018 I was lying in bed playing solitaire and suddenly a wave of dizziness came over me. I got scared and set up and the room was spinning. I felt weak standing up, but I went and got my BP machine. My BP was 187/82 HR 80. I took Metoprolol 25mg right away and Losartan 100mg an hour later which brought BP down to 130/78. Pressure has been in this range. I felt woozy and foggy up until today. What was the possible cause of this episode?

After going through the medical details provided by you I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that before commenting upon any possible cause we need to rule to any underlying cardiac pathology.

I need you to provide me with your any previous medical history of event details and I would like to suggest you to get the following tests done

1. Complete Blood Count
2. Kidney Function Test
3. Serum Electrolytes
4. ECG
5. Echocardiography

Common causes include Anemia, Electrolyte imbalances, Cardiac arrhythmia, Valvular pathologies.

Just had my annual physical 2 weeks ago and labs were WNL including bun, creat. Liver enzymes WNL. EKG revealed ventricular hypertrophy, <5 RBC In urine,
Cholesterol elevated

Advised at the time to take Niacin 500mg
Excercise, low sodium diet
